Skin Treatments – Microneedling

Everyone is talking about the latest lasers and the newest injectables, while one of the most effective skin treatments around keeps quietly delivering. SkinPen microneedling doesn’t have the hype, but it has something better: it works with your skin, not against it.

If you’ve been putting up with acne scarring, open pores, fine lines or skin that has simply lost its bounce, this one is for you.

What is SkinPen?

SkinPen Precision is a medical-grade microneedling device. It was the first microneedling device to be cleared by the US FDA, and in the UK and EU it is approved for a range of scar, texture and ageing concerns.

A sterile, single-use cartridge of ultra-fine needles glides over the skin, creating thousands of tiny, controlled micro-channels. Your body reads these as tiny injuries and responds the way it always does: by producing fresh collagen and elastin to repair them.

The result is skin that gradually becomes smoother, firmer and more even, all built by you. There’s no heat involved, which is one of the reasons SkinPen is suitable for all skin types and tones.

How it works: fine needles create controlled micro-channels, and your skin repairs them by laying down fresh collagen and elastin.
  • Treatment time of around 30 minutes, plus numbing
  • Depth adjusted area by area, from delicate under-eyes to deeper scarring
  • Single-use sterile needle cartridge every time
  • Suitable all year round, for all skin tones

SkinPen doesn’t add anything to your skin. It reminds your skin how to rebuild itself.

SkinPen vs an at-home derma roller

“Can’t I just do this at home?” is one of the questions we hear most. The short answer: not safely, and not with the same results.

WHAT IT CAN HELP WITH

One treatment, many concerns

In the UK, SkinPen is approved for scars, stretch marks, enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. Because it improves the skin’s structure, many concerns get better at the same time.

Acne scarring: softens rolling and boxcar scars by rebuilding the collagen underneath them.

Fine lines & wrinkles: firmer, thicker skin means lines look softer, including around the eyes and neck.

Enlarged pores: tighter, healthier skin helps pores look visibly smaller and more refined.

Uneven texture: rough, bumpy or crepey skin becomes smoother and more even to the touch.

Pigmentation & dullness: encourages cell renewal for a brighter, more even tone and that post-facial glow.

Scars & stretch marks: helps soften surgical scars and stretch marks on the face and body.

At a glance: around 30 minutes for the treatment itself · 24–48 hours of pinkness for most people · suitable for all skin types and tones.

Your skin, week by week

Collagen takes time to build, which is why SkinPen results keep improving long after you leave the clinic. Everyone is a little different, and we’ll give you full aftercare on the day.

Day 0-2: Pink and warm. Skin looks flushed and may feel tight, like a mild sunburn. Skip makeup for the first 24 hours.

Days 3-7: Settling. Redness fades. Some light dryness or flaking is normal, so keep skin hydrated and use SPF every day.

Weeks 1-2: The glow. Skin looks fresher and more radiant as surface cells renew.

Weeks 4-6: Collagen building. New collagen starts to firm and smooth. This is usually when we plan your next session.

3 months +: The real results. Texture, scarring and fine lines continue to improve as collagen matures, especially after a full course.

Myths vs facts

Myth: “A derma roller at home does the same thing.”

Fact: Home rollers are shallow, hard to keep sterile and can tear skin. SkinPen uses a new sterile cartridge every time, with depth set by a trained practitioner.

Myth: “Microneedling is really painful.”

Fact: We apply numbing cream first. Most clients describe a light vibrating or sandpaper-like feeling, and feel very comfortable afterwards.

Myth: “It’s only for acne scars.”

Fact: Scarring is a big one, but SkinPen also helps with fine lines, pores, texture, pigmentation, stretch marks and overall glow.

Myth: “I’ll need a week off work.”

Fact: Most people look pink for a day or two, then carry on as normal. It’s why SkinPen is such a good fit for busy lives.

Myth: “It’s not safe for darker skin.”

Fact: Because microneedling uses no heat, it’s suitable for all skin types and tones when carried out correctly.

Myth: “One session will fix everything.”

Fact: You’ll often see a glow after one session, but lasting change to scars and texture comes from a course, usually spaced a few weeks apart.
